What the Purity Project Wants for You
Who are we really?
Sometimes, when you visit a web site like this one, you may wonder, “What motivates people, like those at The Purity Project OKC?” “Why would they take the time and energy to create a website to try and get in touch with me? Perhaps you are slightly suspicious and rightly question, “What do they really want?” It might be easy to assume that we’re a bunch of religious fanatics or a bunch of crazies with nothing better to do than interfere and judge the personal lives of others. Nothing could be further from the truth.
If you are happy with the way things are going in your life, then keep living the way you are. But, if you find yourself like us: people who were once in over our heads, people whose lives weren’t working and whose lives had become unmanageable, people who who had all but given up–you’re at the right place. We found something that changed our lives. The Purity Project of Oklahoma City is a group of men who’ve experienced and struggled with brokenness, pornography, sexual addictions, and all that go with this; but now, are on the healing and recovery journey. Some of us are further along than others. We’re here to help those who want something better and need help getting it.
What we want for you
I’m going to list, in no particular order, things that describe our recovered lives and why we offer this web site. Some of these things may not seem very profound at all while others may be of great interest. We want you to have the things that we’ve begun to have–abundantly!
We want you to discover that each of your weaknesses, instead of being your enemy, is actually the key to a wonderful new life.
We want you to discover that there really is a higher power that wants to help you and will help you if you’ll let it.
We want you to know that you are not alone, that there are many people who have experienced the same things you have and have moved on to a happy new life.
We want you to discover the importance of checks and balances in your life and soon learn how to cruise right by the things that once tripped you up and made your life miserable.
We want you to lose your sense of guilt and shame and marvel at the fact that the very thing that brought you down is now a strong new foundation for your new and better life.
We want you learn the importance of building a circle to break a cycle and for you have the tools to do it anytime you wish.
We want you develop friendships with wise people instead of those who have little understanding of themselves and are more lost than you.
We want your compulsions to greatly diminish; and, when you feel them coming on, discover that you know just what to do to live a healthy new life.
We want you to be free to do more meaningful things instead of being driven by your compulsions.
We want your life to make more sense and for you begin to discover your true purpose for living. (Life really does make sense and you are part of the sense-making.)
We want you use your time more wisely and productively and become a more effective person.
We want you to be less angry, more loving and more connected to those about you.
We want you to leave your secret life, and instead, become an open book–one that you are not ashamed for others to see and emulate.
We want you live a life where old wounds, hurts and anger find their proper resolution.
We want you to live a life of short accounts–a life where you take care of problems as they arise rather than letting them build up and become unmanageable.
We want you to decrease the unpleasant drama and increase your peace.
We want you to live a life where there is no need for guilt or shame.
We want you to have a life of discovery–to learn more about yourself and appreciate who you really are.
We want you to experience a soul that actually feels peaceful.
We want your relationships to fall into proper balance and harmony.
We want you to have a fulfilling sex life that is more about loving and connecting–to have a life that no longer needs fantasies.
We want you to have a life where you can help others escape the very same things that once kept you captive.
We want you to have a life where not one of your tears are wasted–where good comes something that was once so devastating.
